COKilizer - NEC TOKIN Capacitor Replacement for PS3

For sale is the COKilizer, a professionally assembled custom PCB designed to replace the NEC TOKIN capacitors found in all "fat" PlayStation 3 models and CECH-2000 series "slim" models. 


1 COKilizer PCB replaces 2 NEC TOKIN capacitors. 

"Fat" PS3 models:

You will need 4 COKilizers to replace all 8 NEC TOKIN capacitors found in "fat" PS3 models. 

"Slim" PS3 models:

You will need 2 COKilizers to replace all 4 NEC TOKIN capacitors found in 2000 series PS3 models.

The capacitors used are Super Low ESR Panasonic SP-Caps paired with Samsung made MLCC's in order to effectively filter out electrical noise across high and low frequencies and feed the CPU & GPU clean power for many more years to come. These new capacitors are assembled to the custom made PCB and electrically tested at JLCPCB's factory in order to ensure the best results for every PS3 that utilizes them.

Note that not all NEC TOKIN replacement PCB's are created equally! Some sellers on eBay harvest old capacitors from PS3 slim donor boards and resell them as new replacements, meaning you may be installing capacitors that are just as degraded as the ones being removed. Others source their components from unverified suppliers on platforms like AliExpress, which commonly carry factory rejects or counterfeit parts that will not perform to spec. Poor soldering quality is also a concern, as sloppy assembly can introduce stress on the capacitors that shortens their lifespan even if the parts themselves are genuine. If you're going to invest in this repair, make sure the replacement board uses verifiably new components from reputable distributors like Mouser or Digi-Key.

Note:

Every PCB is manually inspected for shorts and open circuit faults before shipment, and will be packaged in ESD safe bubble wrap. You will be responsible for properly installing this PCB in your own system.
